I first met Castro back in December of 2019 at Supreme Cyphaz in NYC. I had the opportunity to get in touch with him shortly after to ask him a few questions that I felt would be beneficial and insightful for every dancer around the globe but specifically; Egyptian dancers.

1. When Did you start Dancing? '' I started Breaking and popping at the age of 11''. 2. Who were the key influencers that inspired you in Popping? '' MR. Wiggles was an inspiration to me after meeting him at Sesame Street as a child, as well as The Oakland boogaloos & Electric Boogaloos and last but not least, Slick dog helped and influenced my popping'' . 3. What kind of advice you would give young artists and dancers? ''Learn the Foundation & go to the source ''. 4. What do you think countries like Egypt that are new to the culture, should be doing to grow? '' Learn from the Creators, Work on the community, forget about youtube, reach out to the OGS and ask questions, Cypher more, Battle more and keep it real''. On a personal level, Castro has been supportive in every way possible, from sharing information about the culture, to encouraging me to keep motivating and building the dance community in Egypt as well as, sharing my dance videos and classes on social media. Castro is one of the realest dancers I've met within the dance community. His work does not only focus on dance aspects, but real life issues- ranging from racism, Anti-blackness, Cultural appropriation, to various obstacles and barriers that are currently present around the globe. Castro is a firm believer in calling out people on their mistakes. He is always willing to go above and beyond to have meaningful conversations that would help educate, inform and benefit individuals both inside, and outside of the dance community.

I can honestly say, that I am honoured and privileged to continuously learn from this man everyday. His dedication towards the dance community is something that I constantly aspire to uphold.
